Saint Paschal Baylon
Patron Saint of Eucharistic Conferences
Saint Paschal Baylon is one of the most multi-faceted diamonds the Church has ever contained in its Treasury of Faith. He is a lay person, never having been ordained a priest. And yet he is the Patron of Eucharistic Congresses and Confraternities of the Blessed Sacrament. His whole life centered around the Eucharist, for which he is most known, and yet he would not become a priest. He felt only called to be a brother. He adored the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, but did not feel worthy to call Our Lord down onto the Altar as a priest of God.
For our purposes in this book, we want to track his Journey to Sainthood. He ranks high in the Communion of Saints, along with his peers Saints Dominic, Frances Xavier Cabrini, Elizabeth Ann Seton, Leopold, Angela Merici and all the Saints we’re writing about in this Trilogy. He is a Saint in whose path we could easily follow. But in order for you to understand his great contribution, in defense of the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, you must learn about St. Paschal.
